Today I wanted to take advantage of how beautiful the outdoors looked after the snow fall in the night.
when i left my house to shoot i found that everything became more beautiful with the snow and the white on the ground aacted as a perfect reflecter. i am very happy with the images i got today.
when i came to editing them i didnt want to stick with the dramatic look i have been using because i felt these needed a different look to them so i just tweaked them to make them more attractive. i may yet edit them some more once i have had more time to look at them any maby recieve some feedback on them.

for this set of images I went to the butterfly house in Lancaster to photograph the tropical plants. i found this shoot to be very disapointing. the enviromnent for it was totally wrong and i really struggeled to get anything i was happy with. the plants that i was trying to photograph were far too wild, i couldnt found it hard to focus on one thing to photograph. the light in the house was also tricky. because if the thick leafy plants that were there i couldnt get good natural light like i have been using for my other images. i did try to use my flash gun but it reflected off the large leaves and there is a shean on light on all my images.
i did try my best to make the images look presentable but i will not be submiting any of them for the AoP awards.

aniatot

this is a photographer i really liked who i found on flickr.
i was not able to save any of her images but will add the link.
i really love how vibrant her images are and how beautiful they are. she uses a nikon D90 to take these pictures and photographs all year around making the best of the weather at the time.

For this shoot I kept the same method of shooting using the sky as a white background. The day that I had to shoot turned out to be the windiest day of the year so far and I really struggled to get a picture without movement in however when I came to looking at the pictures on my laptop I quite liked the pictures with a little movement in. Whether they would be good enough to offer to other people I am not sure.
With editing I just increased the exposure, I like the way this looked with the blown out white.

There are images that I took when the weather was a little warmer. With the editing I brought out the best of the colours that were there. I believe the image of the lavender would work better by its self. I so like the pink flower but on flickr it hasn’t proved to be as popular.

Here are the first pictures I took when I really didn’t have a plan for the pictures, I just want to take them. I really liked how they looked once I had edited them. For these all I have done is increase the exposure so that that sky became a white back ground and use different lightroom presets. I believe that the first and third image would look best together.

style

The look that I am going to go for this set of images is something that is stylised, contempary and something people would want to put in their homes.
When working with outdoor plants I would like the use the sky as a backdrop of the images with the plants appearing to grow through the space. I understand that I will struggle with this with the current changing weather and the time of year but if I get outdoors early enough I don’t see how this will be a problem. I also understand that with the time of year the most obvious plants have now died but I am more interested in photographing autumn/winter plants such as holly, crisp leaves and winter berries. If I do this well I believe that my images will be able to stand as a set or individualy.
